He was the son of Lieut. Ebenezer Williams, and a descendant of Robert Williams, who emigrated to Roxbury, in 1637.

Veach resided at Lebanon all of his life, where the names of himself and wife appear on the records of the Third, or Goshen Church, as admitted to membership therein Nov. 24, 1776. He was Captain of a company of Connecticut Colonial Militia. He was deputy to the General Court of Conn. 1785. For fourteen consecutive years prior to and during the early years of the Revolution, Veach was townsman or selectman, together with Jonathan Trumbull, Governor of the Colony, William Williams, Signer of the Declaration of Independence, Hon. Joshua West, Capt. Seth Wright and one or two others, who constituted the remaining members of such board.

Veach married Lucy WALWORTH on 12 Oct 1753 in Groton, New London Co., Connecticut. Lucy (daughter of William WALWORTH and Mary AVERY) was born on 03 Dec 1732 in Groton, New London County, Connecticut; died on 10 Aug 1795 in Lebanon, New London County, Connecticut. [Group Sheet] [Family Chart]
