Edward Stafford, K.B., K.G., 3rd Duke of Buckingham, 8th Earl of Stafford, 9th Lord Stafford son and heir of Henry Stafford, 2nd Duke of Buckingham by Katherine, daughter of Richard Wydeville, Earl Rivers. He was born at Brecknock Castle on 3 Feb 1477/8, and was restored to all his father's honours in 1485. He had license to castellate his manor of Thornbury on 9 July 1510. Edward Stafford, Duke of Buckingham, appears to have entertained some notions of his possible right to the Crown, and having incurred the enmity of Cardinal Wolsey, was accused and found guilty, on very flimsy grounds, of high treason, and was executed aged forty-three on tower Hill on 17 May 1521, and was buried at the Austin Friars, London.

Francis Hastings, K.B., K.G., 4th Lord Hastings, 2nd Earl of Hntingdon, P,.C. is the son and heir of George Hastings, of Ashby-de-la-Zouch, co. Leicester, 3rd Lord hastings of Hastings, by Anne, daughter of Henry Stafford, 2nd Duke of Buckingham. They had six sons and four daughters. Francis Hastings, Earl of Huntingdon, died testate aged forty-seven at Ashby on 23 June 1560.
