Mrs. Georganna Cargain, widow of
James Henry Cargain, died on Nov.
24, 1951, at the home of her
daughter, Myrtle Odell, at Farmers
Mills, following a long illness.
Her age was 89.
The deceased was a daughter of
Hosea and Pamelia Head and was born
at Mahopac Falls on Oct. 12, 1862
and lived at Mahopac Falls and
Baldwin Place most of her life,
spending the last seven years with
a son and daughter at Farmers
Mills. She was twice married.
Surviving are 8 children, Eugene
and Wilbur Blenis of Baldwin Place,
James Cargain and Mrs. Herbert
Odell of Farmers Mills, Mrs.
Gertrude Shay, Mrs. Charles Blenis,
Freeman and Silas Cargain; one
brother, James Head; and one sister,
Mrs. Elizabeth Smith.
Interment was made in the Presby-
terian cemetery at Mahopac Falls.

resident, died Jan. 9, 1997, at the
Putnam Nursing and Rehabilitation Center
in Kent. She was born March 15, 1905, to
James and Anne Head Cargain in Mahopac
Falls. A homemaker, she married Charles
Blennis June 27, 1968, in Chestertown.
In addition to her husband, survivors
include six daughters, Genevieve
Simmons of New Milford, Conn., Viola
Smith of Carmel, Frances Burke of
Mahopac, Rose Leib of Mahopac, Shirley
Simmons of Warren, Conn. and Agnes
Blennis of Carmel; and 19 grandchildren.

Obituary
Hosea Blennis, a resident of Baldwin
Place for the past 28 years, died at
his home on July 1, 1946, following
an illness of about one year. His
age was 55. He was the son of Charles
and Georgiana Head Blennis and was
born in Mt. Kisco. He had been
employed at the Baldwin Place Feed
and Coal store for several years. He
was a member of the Mahopac Falls
Baptist church. Surviving are his wife,
the former Julia Odell; two sons,
Charles and Walter; three brothers,
William of Mahopac, Hubert of Yorktown
and Eugene of Amawalk; and three sisters
Mrs. Bertha Odell of Carmel, Mrs. Doris
Odell of Chatham and Mrs. Gertrude
Shay of White Plains. Interment was in
the Ballard-Barrett cemetery, Mahopac Falls.
