He graduated 1724 from Yale College and was the first minister in the Congregational Church, Southington, where he was ordained on 27 Nov. 1728. Jeremiah was under the pastoral care from age four to fourteen of distinguished scholar and second president of Yale College, Timothy Cutler, D.D. Jeremiah was dismissed from the Church in 1754.

Jeremiah married Hannah BURNHAM on 7 Jan 1730/1 in Farmington, Connecticut. Hannah (daughter of Rev William BURNHAM and Hannah WOLCOTT) was born on 18 Nov 1708 in Farmington, Connecticut; died on 10 Apr 1772 in Farmington, Connecticut. [Group Sheet] [Family Chart]
