He accompanied his father to Columbia Co. and later removed to nassau, prob. soon after 1800. His name appears in land recs. of both counties. The will of Peter Ambler signed 16 Apr., prob. 3 June, 1850 mentions wife Chloe, 3 sons; Lewis M., Peter W. and Charles Ambler; also mentions dau. Chloe Ann wife of Daniel Rounds. Lewis M. Ambler residuary legatee. Witnesses Meshack Straight of Stephentown, Rens. Co. and Frederick Smith of Nassau. It seems probable that his wife Chloe was born Waterbury.
