    She was a graduate of Smith College and a member of Christ Church United Methodist.

    She is survived by her husband of 51 years, William E. Bitter; three daughters, Susan Ross (David), Sara Bitter-Hines and Barbara Bitter; four grandsons, William, Jonathan and Robert Hines and Alexander Ross; and sister, Gretchen Jenkins (Jerry).

    A memorial service will be held 1 p.m. Wednesday, Christ Church United Methodist 4614 Brownsboro Road with private burial Riverside Cemetery, Appleton. Visitation with the family will follow the service at church. Arrangements under the direction of Pearson's.
