    From Blairstown Press Feb. 20, 1941

    JOHN C. LOCKBURNER, 63, of Dover, operator of a gasoline service station at Denville, was fatally injured Saturday night by an automobile driven by Ambrose N. Gipe of Mountain Lakes, one of Lockburner's patrons.
    According to Police Chief Jenkins, Lockburner stepped between cars that had stopped for the traffic light on Route 6.
    Gipe was released on $1,000 bail pending grand jury action on a charge of causing death by reckless driving.
    Lockburner leaves his wie, Mrs. Anna E. Lockburner, and four brothers. William F. of Elizabeth, Fred M. of Troy Hills, Frank H. of Blairstown and Conrad S. of Sussex.
    Services were held Wednesday afternoon at the home. Burial was at North Hardyston Cemetery.
