He was private in Capt. Aaron Stevens' company, Col. Samuel Motts' battalion, raised in July, 1776, to reinforce the continental troops in the Northern department, then stationed at Fort Ticonderoga; served under General Gates. He returned in November, 1776. He was also quartermaster, First regiment, Major William hart, of Saybrook, Light Horse; date not given.
