    George W. and Sarah Burdick did not have any children, but adopted a son, William Packer Burdick, at whose home they both died. They are buried at Colegrove, Pennsylvania. Dr. William Packer Burdick was a writer of note. For several years, he edited a column in the "Kane Republican" and was a contributor to the "Medical Pickwick," published in St. Louis, Mo. His short stories and numerous poems were attractive features of the magazine, evidenced by a request for more after his demise. Dr. Burdick was a graduate of the Univ. of Vt. in 1885. He m. Fantine Rogers. His birth surname was GUNSANLUS.

    William Packer Burdick was the son of William Packer Gunsalus and Margaret Martin Gunsalus. He was born 22 Nov 1859 in Huntigndon County, PA. His father died 3 months before he was born. He was adopted by George W. and Sarah (Griswold) Burdick. He was raised in McKean County, PA. He received his medical degree from the University of Vermont and practiced in Kane,Mckean, PA. On 30 Oct 1888 he married Fantine Livia Rogers. They had no children.
