- He attended Emmanuel College, Cambridge University, receiving B.A. in 1634 and M.A. in 1637. He was Rector of Much Horkesley, Essex, then in 1654 Rector at All Saints, Rettendon, Essex. He married before 1653 Elizabeth Sutcliffe, daughter of Rev. Isaiah Sutcliffe, of Rettendon Essex, by Elizabeth, daughter of Rev. Thomas Jolye. They were devised part of Manor of Eastwoodbury after her mother's death. He was ejected "for conscience sake" in 1662, and thereafter resided at or near Eastwood, Essex. [1]
