    • Ramona Rambin Guillory was born on July 5, 1928, in Desoto, Parish, Louisiana to Robert E. Lee Rambin and Seawillow Flores Rambin and passed away on Monday, August 25, 2014, in Lafayette, Louisiana.
      A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, August 28, 2014, at a 1:00 p.m. in the Chapel of the Flowers in Delhomme Chapel of the Flowers in Delhomme Funeral Home, Lafayette, Louisiana followed by interment in Fountain Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Reverend Howard Blessing, Pastor of Holy Cross Catholic Church in Lafayette, will be the Celebrant of the Funeral Mass and will conduct the Funeral services. Altar Servers will be Luke and Joseph Bryson.

      The family requests that visiting hours be observed on Wednesday, August 27, 2014 at Delhomme Funeral Home on Bertrand from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM. A Rosary will be prayed at 6:30 PM on Wednesday evening in the funeral home. Visiting hours will continue Thursday from 10:00 AM until the time of service.

      She is survived by one daughter, one son, four grandchildren, three great grandchildren, and one sister.

      Mrs. Guillory was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, James Bennett Guillory, Sr., eight sisters; and three brothers.

      Ramona Guillory was a native of Rambin, Louisiana and lived most of her life in Lafayette. She entered nursing school at the age of 17, earning her Bachelor's Degree and becoming a Registered Nurse. She married J.B. Guillory on December 24, 1950 and moved to Lafayette to begin their life. She worked at Our Lady of Lourdes, becoming Director of Nurses there, was an office manager for Dr. John Attrep and the Allergy Clinic and finished her career as a school parish nurse with the Lafayette Parish School Board. Ramona had a passion for gardening and was known for her Poinsettias. She was a devout Catholic all of her life and was very involved with her Holy Cross Church community, having volunteered with the St. Vincent de Paul Society. She loved poetry, reading, exercising, cooking for her family and she and J.B. spent many years as members of the Krewe of Zeus and enjoyed participating in Mardi Gras activities. Ramona valued her friendships, especially with two of her close friends, Marlene St. Romain and Gwen Perdomo. She had a special place in her heart for her grandchildren and great grandchildren and spent as much time with them as she could. Ramona will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.
