Name |
Sarah ? [2, 3] |
- Sarah's maiden name is unknown. In her will, she refers to her brother George Graves, but she was not his sister. He had a sister Sarah who married a Mr. Deming. George Graves was a deacon, and in those days a deacon was usually referred to as "brother." If he was her brother-in-law, her maiden name would have been Ventris. In her will she refers to Priscilla Brackett (alias Reynolds) and Sarah Brackett (alias Shaw), as cousins, but the word cousins was more loosely used then than it is now. They may have been nieces ad, if such was the case, she might have been a sister of Peter Brackett, the father of these two "cousins," or a sister of one of his wives. There is no record that he had a sister Sarah Brackett and he is not mentioned in Sarah Lord's will. The connection between Sarah Lord and the two "cousins" is not apparent. [1]
