    • Georgette Slauson Calhoun, 85, of Elmore, AL, passed peacefully at her home on Friday, December 10, 2021.
      She was preceded in death by her daughter Carolyn Faye Armstrong; her parents Lonnie and Alice Slauson; sisters Marie Henderson, Pat Brantley, Anna Slauson, Alice Mims and a grandson Jody Armstrong.

      She is survived by her daughter Kathy (Paul) Brantley; son Don (Sandy) Armstrong; five grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren; her brother Ret. Brigadier General Lonnie J. Slauson Jr. (Nell); a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.

      We would like to thank Amedysis Hospice for their great care and compassion. Sheila, Donna, Barbara, Shirley, Josh, Jason, Hannah and the entire staff for making all of us comfortable during this time and caring for her. A special thank you to her caregiver Shelley Defee, who went over and beyond caring for her and her family.

      Family and friends will assemble for a graveside service at Greenwood Cemetery at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, December 14, 2021.
