- In 1688 Jacob was a fence-viewer, and in 1689 a cooper. He drew land in the 1695 allotment. He was a sergeant, and later became a captain. He was one of the four sons-in-law of Josiah Gilbert who on 3-2-1698 petitioned the Court to order a distribution of the estate of Gilbert. In 1706 he bought land in Rocky Hill of his brother John Williams of Middletown. He died 9-26-1712. His will, probated 2-29-1713. [1]
