James Edward Brownlow

James Edward Brownlow, 72, retired Carrollton welder, died Saturday, Oct. 17, 1987, at St. Dominics Hospital in Jackson after a brief illness.

Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Maggie Slawson Brownlow of Carrollton, four daughters, Mrs. Margaret Garrett and Mrs. Ahlean Sanders, both of Greenwood, Mrs. Patricia Noah of Carrollton and Mrs. Cyril Dean Misskelley of North Carrollton, a son J.E. Brownlow, Jr of Memphis, three sisters, Mrs. Daisy James of Grenada and Mrs. Vera Johnson and Mrs. Norene Lee both of Winona, two brothers, Ike Brownlow of Pascagoula and Orval Brownlow of New Orleans, 12 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Funeral services were conducted Sunday, Oct. 18 at 4 p.m. from New Bethel Baptist Church, where he was a member. The Rev. Bill Henerson preached. Interment was in New Bethel Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Robert Clements, Wesley Clements, Gregory Clements, Raymond Sanders, Jr., Jeff Sanders and Brad Noah. Oliver Funeral Home handled arrangements.
