    Bethany Jackson-Dones, age 38, passed away suddenly on Saturday, June 25, 2011 in New Albany, Ohio where she resided with her husband, Emilio Dones and daughter, Evelyn Rose.

    She was a graduate of Joliet West High School and DePaul University. She later received her Masters degree in library science.

    Bethany, we will miss your quick wit and your sense of humor. How blessed we all were to have had you in our lives. She is in the arms of angels now, rest in peace our beloved Roo.

    Bethany is survived by her husband, Emilio Dones; daughter, Evelyn Rose; her parents, Jack and Charlene Jackson; her sisters, Tina (Larry) Susner and Lisa (Raul) Rivera; her grandparents, Charlotte Ligos, and Ann and Jack Jackson, Sr.; her husband's parents, Carmen I. Dones and Wilman Dones, Sr.;and numerous nieces, nephews and family.

    She was preceded in death by her grandfather, John Ligos.

    Funeral services: Thursday, June 30, 2011 at 12:15 p.m. from the funeral home to the Church of St. Jude, 2212 McDonough Street, Joliet for a mass of Christian burial at 1:00 p.m.

    Interment Woodlawn Memorial Park.

    In lieu of flowers, memorials to an education fund for her daughter, Evelyn, would be appreciated.

    Visitation Thursday morning 9:00 a.m. until time of services at 12:15 p.m. at: Fred C. Dames, 3200 Black at Essington Rds., Joliet

    Age, 73, passed away Friday, July 22, 2016 at his residence with his family by his side. Born and raised in Joliet, he was a resident of Shorewood. LaVerne was a U.S. Army veteran and retired from BASF. He was an avid sportsman who enjoyed hunting ,fishing and spending time at the lake with his family and friends.

    Survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Charlene J. (nee Ligos); two daughters, Tina (Larry) Susner and Lisa (Raul) Rivera; seven grandchildren, Michael (Stacy), Nicole and Natalie Susner, Krystal, Raul III, and Elijah Rivera and Evelyn Dones; four siblings, Richard (Cathy) Jackson, Gary Jackson, Terry (Debbie) Jackson and Shirley (Jay) Koren; numerous nieces, nephews and friends.

    Preceded by his parents, LaVerne J. and Ann (nee Vitus) Jackson; his daughter, Bethany (Emilio) Jackson-Dones; one brother, Robert Jackson and one sister, Barbara Zefeldt.

    Jack would want us to have one last toast in his honor, so lets raise our glass to a great friend, beloved brother,adored grandfather,cherished father,and loving husband-Rest in Peace, you will be missed but always in our hearts.

    A Memorial Mass for LaVerne J. Jackson will be held on Wednesday, July 27, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. at Church of St. Jude, 2212 McDonough St., Joliet, IL 60436 with military honors under the auspices of the United States Army. As it was his wish, cremation rites have been accorded. In lieu of flowers, memorials in his name to the Wounded Warriors would be appreciated.
