Name:
David Fancher ran a freight sloop ROSE and in 1801 was owner and master of the JOHN, 49 tons, which he sold in 1805. Bought a farm (owned by Amzi Fancher in 1903) in New Milford, NY, about 1805.

David married Mary HOW on 26 May 1788 in Stamford, Fairfield, Connecticut, USA. Mary was born on 5 Apr 1771; died on 18 Dec 1819 in Warwick, Orange Co., New York. [Group Sheet] [Family Chart]

1. Martha FANCHER was born on 25 Apr 1807 in Stamford, Fairfield County, Connecticut; died on 13 Feb 1880 in Chicago, Cook Co., Illinois.

David married Sarah HOLMES on 22 May 1820. Sarah was born in 1774; died on 5 Nov 1854 in Darien, Fairfield County, Connecticut. [Group Sheet] [Family Chart]

Name:
David Fancher was a carpenter before marriage and a farmer afterward. he was an enlisted man in Capt. Jonathan Bell's Company, General Wooster's Ninth Regiment, from 24 Oct. 1777 to 24 Dec 1777 and served at home.

He was on the list of members of St. John's Episcopal Church in Stamford in 1784. William, Sylvanus and David Fancher, of Norwalk and Stamford, were in the same regiments in the Revolution, the families were very close, and children of David and Sylvanus went to Warwick, NY, early in the 1800's.

David married Martha HOLMES on 7 Jun 1764 in Stamford, Fairfield, Connecticut, USA. Martha (daughter of John HOLMES and Rebecca BELL) was born on 26 Apr 1741 in Stamford, Fairfield, Connecticut, USA; died after 1810. [Group Sheet] [Family Chart]
