His will, made in 1730 and proved in Little Compton 20 June 1732: "....To wife Mary Brownell one half of my dwelling house and one half my orchard to be for her use during her life, all bills and bonds and 50 pounds a year, and all my Negroes, she to be my executrix. To sons Thomas, John, George and Jeremiah 10 pounds each and I confirm a deed of land to each of them. To son Charles all farming tools and one half of my stock. I also confirm a deed of land to him. to grand-daughter Mary Carr 10 pounds and two chests marked T.B...."

In her will Mary Brownell left to her four sons "1 shilling each, to grandson Samuel Brownell 1 feather bed, bolster and coverlid. to brother George Pearce my mair and he to pay to my son John Brownell 8 pounds which 8 pounds I give to him....To granddaughter Mary Carr money bills and bonds of mine."

Thomas married Mary PEARCE in 1678. Mary (daughter of Richard PEARCE and Susannah WRIGHT) was born on 6 May 1654 in Portsmouth, Newport Co., Rhode Island ; died on 4 May 1736 in Little Compton, Rhode Island. [Group Sheet] [Family Chart]

1. Capt. Thomas BROWNELL was born on 16 Feb 1679 in Little Compton, Newport County, Rhode Island; died in Jan 1752 in Little Compton, Rhode Island.
2. John BROWNELL was born on 21 Feb 1682 in Little Compton, Newport County, Rhode Island; died in Mar 1759 in Little Compton, Rhode Island.
3. George BROWNELL was born on 19 Jan 1685; died on 22 Sep 1756.
4. Jeremiah BROWNELL was born on 10 Oct 1689 in Little Compton, Newport County, Rhode Island; died in Jun 1756.
5. Charles BROWNELL was born on 23 Dec 1694 in Little Compton, Newport County, Rhode Island; died in Feb 1774.
