Henry Slawson died April 10, 1889 of pneumonia. He came to Rock County 50 years ago to live near Evansville. He recently came to Janesville. He leaves a wife and several children: Mrs. Russel, Lacrosse; Mrs. Taylor, Hulda*, Minnesota; George Slawson, Red Wing, Minnesota; James Slawson, Iowa and Mrs. Effie Jones, Nellie Slawson, William and Fred Slawson, and stepson Fred McCoy of Janesville. His home was 104 S. Main Street.

Mrs. Jane Slawson passed away at six o'clock last evening at the home of her son, William Slawson, 55 Fourth avenue. Yesterday was her sixty-sixth birthday anniversary. Her original home was in the state of Vermont, from whence she came to Wisconsin while a little girl. For the past eighteen years Mrs. Slawson had made Janesville her home and lived a noble, helpful life devoted largely to the well-being and happiness of others. Her husband died sixteen years ago. Five children survive the mother. They are Mrs. J.F. Turnbull, Mrs. D.W. Longsdorif, Mrs. George Jones, W.E. Slawson, and H.W. Slawson...
