    Louis Bertani

    JOLIET - Louis Robert ''Big Lou'' Bertani, former State's Attorney of Will County from 1968-1972, and principal with the Law Firm of Herschbach, Tracy, Johnson, Bertani and Wilson for over 20 years and who was of counsel with Tracy Johnson, Bertain and Wilson at the time of his death, died Wednesday (April 28, 1999).
    He was born May 19, 1928 in Joliet, the son of Louis D. and Helen Henke Bertani.
    He was a graduate of Joliet Junior College and DePaul University School of Law. He practiced his profession in Joliet beginning in 1951.
    He was appointed by the Illinois Supreme Court to conduct character and fitness examinations of bar applicants. He served as a board member and president of the Joliet Public School District 86.
    Surviving are his wife of 50 years, the former Doris M. Agazzi; his many children and grandchildren; a sister, Jean Stobbe; a brother and sister-in-law, Gerry and Jean Agazzi; and nephews.
    Visitation will be from 4-9 p.m. Friday at the Carlson-Holmquist- Sayles Funeral Home, Joliet, were services will be at 9:15 a.m. Saturday. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday at The Church of St. Anthony, where he was a member.
    Entombmemt will be in Resurrection Cemetery.
    Memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association, the American Heart Association or to the Joliet Area Community Hospice.

    Doris Mae Bertani

    Doris Mae Bertani passed from this earth on January 22, 2019 in the presence of loved ones. Born May 31, 1928 to Albino (Peter) and Rose (Bortoli) Agazzi.

    A graduate of Eliza Kelly Grade School, Providence Catholic High School and Joliet Junior College. After raising her children, Doris became a Registered Nurse and went on to practice her profession at St. Joseph Medical Center. She continued to serve the sick as a volunteer with Joliet Area Community Hospice, an organization that was instrumental in easing her path into the next life. A member of the Church of St. Anthony, she loved sharing breakfast with the ladies after weekday services.

    Doris was an avid reader who instilled the love of the written word in each of her children, and was formidable in front of a jigsaw puzzle or crossword. She brought peace and tranquility wherever she went.

    Doris is survived by her children, Mary Terese "Terry" Jostes, Robert L. (Sally) Bertani, Susan Mary Bertani, Amy Maria (Jeffery) Tomczak, Mary Joyce (Michael) Skubic, Matthew Gerard (Kathy) Bertani, Eileen Mary (Todd) Jackson and Peter Paul (Andrea) Bertani; daughter-in-law, Nancy Kyle Bertani; son-in-law Robert Jostes; grandchildren, Jennifer Ann (Kirk) Peifer, Christopher Robert (Natalie) Jostes, Wendy Michelle (David) Bergmann, Bryan R. Bertani, Lina Phyllis and Rose Doris Tomczak, Daniel Robert and Sarah Elizabeth Skubic, Anna Rose and Louis Joseph Bertani, Mickey Todd, Chloe Rose and Madeline Grace Jackson; great grandchildren, Emerson Kate Jostes and Nixon Marie Peifer. She is also survived by her nephews, Steven and John (Stephanie) Stobbe; and dear sister-in-law, Jean Agazzi.

    Preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Louis R. Bertani (1999); son, Joseph Bertani; her parents; brother, Gerald A. Agazzi; grandson, David Michael Skubic; great grandson, Hardy Bertani Bergmann; and sister-in-law, Jeane Stobbe.

    The family is forever grateful for her loving caretakers Alexandra Caldwell and Sue Garcia, who became so much more to Doris.

    Visitation will be held at the Carlson-Holmquist-Sayles Funeral Home & Crematory 2320 Black Road Joliet on Sunday, January 27, 2019 from 2:00 to 6:00 p.m. Funeral Services will be held on Monday, January 28, 2019 from the funeral home at 9:15 a.m. to Church of St. Anthony for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. Entombment Resurrection Cemetery Romeoville.

    In lieu of flowers, memorials to Joliet Area Community Hospice would be appreciated.
