Gertrude Dingee After Long Illness

Gertrude Louise Dingee, 70, wife of Maurice Dingee of 5 Old Redding Road died Wednesday morning in Norwalk Hospital after a long illness.

Born in Ridgefield on June 10, 1905, the daughter of the late Samuel and Emma Corrigan Mead, she was a lifelong resident and was educated in Ridgefield schools.

Besides her husband, she is survived by two sons, Samuel and Robert Thorne of Danbury, two daughters, Mrs. James Pittman of Fairmont, NC and Mrs John L. Beers of North Salem, NY, three sisters, Mrs. Mort Mead of South Salem, NY, Mrs. Eva Hawley of Georgetown, and Mrs. Ralph Smith of Danbury; 25 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will take place Friday morning, march 26, at the Bouton Funeral Home Church Street, Georgetown with the Rev. Paul Hoyt of the Georgetown United Methodist Church officiating. Burial will be in South Salem New York Cemetery.

Calling hours are the evening from 7 to 9 at the Bouton Funeral Home.
