Ina Fay Meeks peacefully slipped from her earthly body on St. Patricks Day, March 17, 2003, at the age of 87.

Ina Fay was born February 2, 1916, in Stamford, Texas. She married Thomas Meeks on January 1, 1934, in Jones County, Texas, and moved to Bakersfield in 1936.

Ina Fay was a proud member of the Bakersfield Womans Club, Caldonia Eastern Star, Amarath, VFW, American Legion, Royal Neighbors and several lunch groups.

Ina Fay was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Meeks; her brother, Warren Phelps; and her sister, Lela May Pinherio. She is survived by two children, Thomas Meeks Jr. of Bakersfield and Donna Russell of Baywood Park, CA; 5 grandchildren, Robin, Tami, Tracy, Steve and Craig; 8 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren.

Viewing will be Friday, March 21, 2003 from 10:00 a.m.-1:30 p.m., with graveside services, at 2:00 p.m., at Greenlawn Memorial Park, 3700 River Blvd., in Bakersfield.
