He then married abt.1856 Ellen McMahon in New York. They had the following children Chauncy Howe Jr., Charles Howe, George W.Howe,Phillip Howe,Sarah L. Howe Cutting,Henry Hank Howe,Robert Howe, infant Howe.

FORTY-THREE YEARS
Mrs. Ellen Howe of Hayes Township had resided in this county
Mrs.Ellen Howe, one of the oldest pioneer of this county, died at the home of her son Philip, in Hayes Township Monday, of old age
Ellen McMahon was born in Quebec 87 years ago and came to this county, with her husband Chauncey Howe Sr., 43 years ago. She leaves besides her husband, six sons, Chauncey Jr, Charles, George, Philip, Henry and Robert Howe, all of whom reside in Hayes Township except Robert who lives in the west.
The funeral was held from her late home this afternoon, Reverend Mr. Belknap officiating.
