  1. 1.  Jonathan ROFF was born on 22 Feb 1682/3 in Concord, Massachusetts; died between 2 Aug 1722 - 15 Jun 1729.

    Notes:

    Name:
Jonathan was the son of Daniel and Mary (?Knights) Roff. He died after 2 August 1722, when the birth of his last child was recorded and before 15 June 1729, when Ann (Shapley)Avery) Roff's intention of marriage was published. The name is also found under the spellings of Rapp, Roffe, Ropp, and Ruff.

On 11 December 1711, Jonathan Ruff of Norwich, administrator with sureties Caleb Bushnell of Norwich and Joseph Truman of New London posted bond on the estate of Thomas Avery, Jr. The inventory, dated 11 December 1712, was taken by John Plumbe and C. Christophers, and listed the children as Thomas, aged 6 years of age, and Ann, aged 4 years. Ann (Shapley) (Avery) Ruff, Relict of Thomas Avery, appeared to make oath to the correctness of the inventory.

Ann (Shapley) Roff was admitted to the First Congregational Church of Christ in New London, on 15 June 1718.

Jonathan Ruff of New London, the second husband of Ann (Shapley) (Avery) Ruff, evidently died intestate but no probate record was listed in New London.

Jonathan married Anne SHAPLEY on 21 Nov 1711. Anne (daughter of Benjamin SHAPLEY and Mary PICKETT) was born on 31 Aug 1685 in New London, New London Co., Connecticut; died on 17 Jun 1751 in Groton, Connecticut. [Group Sheet] [Family Chart]
