Name:
Thomas Montagu, Knt., K.B., Earl of Salisbury, Lord Montagu, son and heir, was born about 1388 (aged twelve at his father's death). He was married for the first time to Alianor De Holand. She was born in 1387, the fifth child and second daughter of that name, and was co-heiress of her brother Edmund Holand, Earl of Kent. She was living in 1413, and according to her husband's will, was buried at Bisham. He was summoned to Parliament as Earl of Salisbury on 26 Oct 1409. In consideration of his great services in the French War, he was restored in blood to the dignities held by his father on 2 May 1421, becoming thus Lord Montagu, etc. He received a grant of the Comte of Perche, and was appointed Lieut. General of Normandy.

Thomas married Alianor II DE HOLAND before 23 May 1399. Alianor (daughter of Sir Thomas DE HOLAND, K.G. and Alice FITZ ALAN) was born in 1387; died after 1413. [Group Sheet] [Family Chart]

Thomas married Alice CHAUCER before Nov 1424. Alice (daughter of Thomas CHAUCER and Maud BURGHERSH) was born about 1404 in Ewelme, Oxfordshire, England; died on 20 May 1475 in Ewelme, Oxfordshire, England. [Group Sheet] [Family Chart]

Name:
John De Montagu, Knt., K.G., Earl of Salisbury, Lord Montagu, Lord Monthermer, son and heir, was born about 1350/1 (aged thirty-nine at death of his father), and was nephew and heir of William de Montagu, Earl of Salisbury. He was summoned to Parliament from 23 Nov 1392. John De Montagu, Earl of Salisbury, having conspired against King Henry IV, was beheaded at Cirencester on 7 Jan 1399/1400, and was buried there.

John married Maud FRANCIS before 04 May 1383. Maud (daughter of Adam FRANCEYS and ? UNKNOWN) died before 05 Aug 1424. [Group Sheet] [Family Chart]
