    Services for Stanley E. Markley, 49, of 724 S. Third St., Aberdeen, were Thursday, May 22, at St. Paul's Lutheran Church with the Rev. Raymond A. Giese officiating.

    Organist was Sheri Scott and the congregation sang "The Lord's My Shepherd, I'll Not Want" and "What a Friend We Have In Jesus".

    Ushers were Howard Dahme, Melvin Schaeffer and Ernest Angerhofer.

    Burial was in Sunset Memorial Gardens with military graveside rites by the Sidney L. Smith American Legion Post No. of Aberdeen. The Miller-Heubl Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

    Casket bearers were Gerald Henley, Mike Felix, Charles Kirnan, Harvey Larson, Arthur Dahme, and Robert Kessler, all of Aberdeen.

    Mr. Markley died Monday, May 19 at rural Bath.

    Stanley Eugene Markley, the son of George and Alice Markley, was born at Highmore on July 31, 1930 and started school there. He moved to Chamberlain in 1946 and to Groton in 1947. He graduated from Groton High School in 1950, and entered the U.S. Air Force that fall. He was married to Donna Mae Sueltz at James on November 30, 1952, and they made their first home in Anchorage, Alaska. In 1954 they moved to Aberdeen where they have lived since. He was employed at Kessler's, Inc., for 26 years and was the produce manager there at the time of his death.

    He was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, the L.L.L. Christian Fellowship Club, the International Lutheran Laymen's League, and the Branch President of A.A.L. at St. Paul's Lutheran Church. He was also a member of the Sidney L. Smith American Legion Post #24, the Band Boosters, and the Royal Order of the Gyps.

    He is survived by his wife Donna M. Markley, Aberdeen, three sons, Michael E. Markley, Wetonka; Greg A. Markley, and Steven D. Markley, both of Aberdeen; two daughters, Mrs. Sherrie Austin, Aberdeen, and Mrs. Kerry (Bonnie) Stiner, Custer; five brothers, Howard Markley, Aberdeen; Charles Markley, Highmore, Victor Markley, Wagner; Lyle Markley, Santa Ana, Calif.; and Floyd Markley, Gilpert, Iowa; four sisters, Stella Markley, Highmore; Mrs. Homer (Delores) Coffman, Stratford, Tex.; Mrs. Ray (Bernice) Barnes, Huron; and Mrs. Clarence (Beverly) Jerke, Carter; and three grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister.
