    Name:
    Samuel Gleason was ensign inCaptain Nixon's company of Minute Men, also Lieut. of Capt. Micajah Gleason's company of Minute Men, which march to Concord on the alarm of April 19, 1775; was in service 16 days. He was also signer of a petition dated June 1, 1776, to Col.Samuel Bullard asking that their company be divided into two companies. he was Selectman 1779 to 1781. he removed to E. Sudbury before 1800, and later to Peacham, Vermont.

    Jan. 1736, Samuel Gleason bought the Daniel Howe tavern, including 16 acres, with house and barn, where he kept a public tavern many years; was Sergt. in French and Indian war on roll dated April 26, 1757; Lieut. in Framingham militia 1764; March 5, 1770 chosen overseer of the workhouse. In 1771 he was on a committee to examine meeting house and report the repairs to be made.

    Samuel married Dorothy FAUX on 14 Mar 1740 in Framingham, Massachusetts. Dorothy died in 1751. [Group Sheet] [Family Chart]
