"Families of Early Guilford": Thomas Burgis, a shoemaker, was born in Yorkshire, England, was a British man-of-war and brought to New York. He ran away and was retaken, with a deep sabre wound upon one cheek, deserted again and came to Guilford.
Thomas married Mercy WRIGHT on 19 Aug 1707. Mercy was born in 1680; died on 26 Jun 1747. [Group Sheet] [Family Chart]
