    Notes:

    At his father's death, in his 19th year, he was put under the guardianship of Josiah CHURCHILL. In "Ancient Wethersfield" he is identified with his son Elisha, but the dates and ages given there corroborate the family tradition that there were 3 Elishas in the line. Particulars concerning his family, however, have not yet been disentangled from the records.
