    • Ibson Gleason, the father, was a soldier in the war of the Rebellion, enlisted Aug. 15, 1892, in Co. G, 96th Ill. Vol.; was detailed in Pioneer Corps, Apr. 7, 1863, and transferred to the First U.S. Vet. Engineers, Aug. 15, 1863, with which Co. he served until the close of the war, as Sergt. of Co. A.; was discharged in Nashville, Tenn., July 3, 1865.

      He was a member, and Commander of the G.A.R. Post in Libertyville, and one of the Charter members of the Masonic Lodge in that place. He also held various town and county offices. He was a builder and contractor, in partnership with his son Harry. [1]
