      Guenton Cyril Slawson Sr., 83, of Chimacum died Sunday.

      He was born to A.O. and Lydia Slawson in Stonewall, Miss. He graduated from Cannon High School in Kannapolis, N.C., and served in the Army Air Corps. Mr. Slawson worked in construction with Stearns-Roger, Inc., and also with U.A. Plumbers and Steamfitters. He was a life member of the Masons, Elks and Escapees.

      He was preceded in death by his first wife, Bertie; and twin brothers, Bryce and Bruce Slawson. He is survived by his wife, Judith; his sons, G.C. Slawson Jr.; daughters, Brenda Piccone and Diane Watters; brothers, Ralph Slawson and Harold Slawson; sister, Cleo Overcash; grandchildren, Jeff Hart and Erika Gavan; and one great-grandchild.
