- Mrs. Annie E. (Lobo) Sofford formally of 22 Granite Street, widow of William H. Sofford died last night at the Farnsworth Nursing Home, Peabody. She was 91 years old.
Born in New Bedford on October 15, 1872, she was the daughter of Joseph and Phoebe (Crapo) Lobo. She was a life long member of the Degree of Pocahontas.
She is survived by three grandchildren, Mrs. Edward Hawes of Gloucester. Mrs. William Drexler of Danvers and James W. Sofford Jr. of Long Beach, California. Her only child, James W. Sofford, was a member of the Gloucester Police Department until his death in 1961. She leaves nine great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.
The funeral will be held in the Pike Funeral Home, 61 Middle Street on Friday morning a 11 with burial in Beechbrook Cemetery. Visitinghours at the funeral home will be Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9.
