      Funeral services for Mrs. Martha A. Sliker of 118 Water street, Newton, were conducted Monday at 2 p.m. at the Gable Funeral Home, Maine street, Sparta, by the Rev. Ira Wheatly, pastor of the Sparta Methodist Church. Burial was in Sparta Presbyterian Cemetery.

      Mrs. Sliker died Saturday of cancer in Newton. Memorial Hospital. Born in Ogdensburg, 75 years ago, she had been a aresident of Neton for the past seven years.

      Se is survived by her husband, James; two sons, Hartford, of Newton, and Allan, of Branchville; two daughters, Mrs Bessie Schoonover of Sussex, and Mrs. Hazel Spangenberg, of Stillwater; a brother William Kays, of Ogdenburg; two sisters, Mrs. Jennie Willis, of Ogdensburg, and Mrs. Mamie Hedril, of Sussex; nine grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
