- Jacob Warner went to Amherst from Hadley after his brothers Moses and Aaron, some time after 1745; was appointed on a committee to issue warrants for precinct meetings, 1752, and was one of the incorporators of the Second Parish in Amherst. He was surveyor in 1754, and at the first meeting of the district of Amherst, March 19, 1759, was elected fence-viewer. Frequent mention of his name occurs on the cords of Amherst for the next few years, and in 1788 he was on the list of land owners. [1]
