    • Dr. Charles Phelps came from Hebron, Conn., and took up his abode in Stonington, now North Stonington, where he built him a residence, near the foot of Cosatuc Hill. He afterwards removed to Stonington, where he spent the remainder of his life. He was one of the leading physicians of his day and generation, holding the office of Judge of Probate of the town and other offices. [1]
