- He was a schoolmaster, in Watertown 1697/1707, in Boston 1707-1713, and in Framingham 1714-1716. For many years after this he was prominent in public affairs in Framingham, serving as town clerk eighteen years, selectman ten years, town treasurer two years, representative to the Massachusetts General Court 1724-1732 inclusive and Councillor of Massachusetts in 1733, 1734 and 1735. He also held commissions as captain of a troop of horse and as a justice of the peace. [1]
