As he was nearly forty when the first of his ten children was born, and possessed a homelot and lands, a prior marriage is likely, and he may have m. (1) before 1659, Mary War, who d. after 1665 without issue. He bouth lands of Charles and Michael Taintor, prior to 14 June 1656.
