  • Name Elisha Maulo AULDS  [2
    • Elisha M. Auld was born during the brief period during which his parents lived in Kemper County Mississippi. In 1838, the family moved to what is now eastern Union Parish Louisiana and settled on a farm near the Ward's Chapel Road.

Elisha married on 25 December 1855 in Union Parish to Mary E. Slawson (Mar 1832-1909). Despite having a wife, Elisha enlisted in mid-1861, along with his first cousin, Jayne W. Henry Auld, in the "Stars of Equality," a unit that became Company E, 19th Louisiana Infantry Regiment. After training at Camp Moore that fall, they saw some of the heaviest action at the Battle of Pittsburg Landing (Shiloh) in April 1862. They later saw service with the campaigns of the Army of Tennessee in 1863-1865. Jayne Auld was killed at the Battle of Resaca in May 1864, but Elisha survived the war, serving until the surrender in May 1865.

After the war, Elisha and Mary moved to Palestine, in Anderson County Texas. Elisha died during the 1870s, and in 1880, Mary Slawson Auld lived with their son in Hill County Texas.
