Jesse I Crapo
Jesse is the son of David Crapo and Mercy Soule/Sowle. Enlisted in Company E, Michigan 3rd Infantry Regiment on 11 Mar 1862. After only a few days he contracted typhoid fever and was taken to a military hospital Savage Station, Virginia. He never recovered and died. His body was to be taken back to Michigan for burial but there was a mix-up i the burial records and he was buried in the National Cemetery in Virginia. (Seven Pines National Cemetery in Richmond, Henrico Co., Virginia)
