Mary V. (LeClair) Fagerstrom of Chicopee, Massachusetts, passed away on February 7, in Willimansett Center West. She had been a resident at the facility since June, 2013. Mary was born on September 3, 1927, in Sturgeon Bay, Wisconsi,n to the late Englebert and Sophia (Propson) LeClair of Jacksonport, WI. Mary graduated from Sevastopol High School in 1945. She played the French Horn in the high school band, was voted the class comedienne and held the position of senior illustrator for the yearbook. After graduation, Mary worked at Pleck Ice Cream and Dairy Company in Sturgeon Bay. She met her husband Donald on the bus to work. He was driving for the Bay View Bus Company prior to entering the service. Mary would make googly eyes at him in his rear view mirror. Having grown up in Jacksonport, Wisconsin on Lake Michigan and spending summers there with family and friends, Mary will always call Door County home. Her favorite sports teams were the Green Bay Packers, the Boston Red Sox and the Celtics. She was an enthusiastic fan and would often be yelling or cheering in front of the TV or the radio. She had a wonderful sense of humor, would talk with everyone she met and would be the life of the party. Mary was a dedicated wife and loving mother, daughter and sister. She was a devout Catholic, praying the rosary daily and instilled a great love of God, Jesus Christ and the Virgin Mary in her two daughters. Mary was predeceased by her husband, Donald, who died peacefully at Willimansett Center West on January 14, 2014. The couple had been married for 66 years.
