Silliman, 79, of Lower Burrell, died unexpectedly Thursday, May 29, 2008, at West Penn Hospital, Pittsburgh. She was born June 22, 1928, in Tarentum, daughter of the late Harold and Zella (Lehman) Hailes. She was a homemaker, a resident of Lower Burrell for the past 51 years and a member of Trinity United Christian Church, Lower Burrell. She graduated from Tarentum High School in 1946. Geraldine was an avid Pittsburgh sports fan, enjoyed reading and loved her cats. She is survived by her sons, Michael E. (Sandra) Silliman, of Arnold, David A. (Casey) Silliman, of Lower Burrell, and C. Neal (Cheryl) Silliman, of Lower Burrell; five grandchildren; one great-grandson; and sisters, Bonnie Fennell, of New Kensington, and Gail Beattie, of Tarentum. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Clifford E. "Cliff" Silliman, in 2001; and sister, Sal Hrabus. Relatives and friends will be received from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday and from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday in the DUSTER FUNERAL HOME, Tarentum, where services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday by the Rev. Janet T. Furer, assistant pastor. Burial will be in Mt. Airy Cemetery, Natrona Heights. (Obituary from The Valley News Dispatch, Tarentum, Pa.)
