    Mr Baumer graduated from Eaton Rapids High School and played in the high school band. He attended Michigan State Agricultural College. Mr. Baumer was also a Union Musician, playing with the MSU College Band & Scott Munn's Band. He retired in 1963 from General Motors Drop Forge in the Toll and Die Department after many years. He was a life member of Capitol Lodge of S.O. #66 F & AM and had attended the Mount Hope United Methodist Church. Surviving are his wife Orpha I., 3 daughters, Mrs Betty Keusch of Las Vegas, Mrs Avis Hooker of Wayland, & Mrs Norma Everhard of Portland. 2 surviving sons, Duane of Harrison, Walter of Lansing, 2 brothers, Lynn of Lansing and Ralph of Detroit, 18 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren.

    BAUMER, DONALD LYNN 'PETE'

    Born May 13, 1899, in Eaton County, died January 27, 1999, at the age of 99. Mr. Baumer was a veteran of World War I and was employed at REO Motor Works and fisher Body. He was an active bowler for 47 years and an avid fisherman. Mr. Baumer played drums for Munn's Band in Eaton rapids and was best remembered for his love of his flower and vegetable gardens. He was preceded in death by his wife, Neva L. (Bateman) on February 1,1984; son Kenneth Ripley Baumer who died serving his couontry during World War II on the USS Albacore submarine; and a son-in-law, Charles A. Armitage (1997). Surviving are 3 daughters, Lorraine Armitage of Sarasota, Fl., Marilyn (Avery) Haak of Port Wing, WI, and Linda (Larry) Hodge of Spokane, WA; 7 grandchildren; and 11 great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Monday, Feb 1, 2pm at the Gorsline-Runciman Co. Lansing Chapel, 900 E. Michigan Ave., Lansing, with the Rev. Wesley B. Emerson officiating. Interment will follow in Dimondale Cemetery, Dimondale. the family will receive friends at the Chapel 1 hour prior to the service.

    Christopher Michael Hogan, 59, of Shepherd, passed away on Sunday, October 1, 2006 at his home. Funeral Services for Chris will be held on Friday, October 6, at 11 am at Clark Funeral Chapel with the rev. Nancy Casey-Fulton and Frita Benson co-officiating. Cremation will take place after the service. The family will receive friends on Thursday, October 5, from 7-9 pm. at Clark Funeral Chapel. Memorial contributions may be made to the Hogan Family. Chris was born on November 9, 1946, in Lansing. he attended Michigan State university where he graduated in 1968 with a Master's degree Chris was currently employed for the State of Michigan at the Carson City Correctional Facility as a prison counselor. prior to that, he had been a counselor at Community Mental health in Lansing and the Mt. Pleasant Center. Chris married Barbara Keehbauch on September 27, 1975, in Midland. He collected antiques and military items and enjoyed spending time at his cabin in the Upper Peninsula. Chris is survived by his wife, Barbara; his sons Airman 1st Class Daniel L. Hogan and Benjamin H. Hogan, both of Mt. Pleasant; his mother-in-law Marion Carpenter; brother Kevin (Karen) Hogan of DeWitt; sisters Cathy (Bill) Murgan of Interlochen and Carol (Rod) Shepard of Lansing, in-laws Ricard (Theresa) Keehbauch of Mt. Pleasant, Glenn Keehbauch of Georgia, Angela Hopkins of Mt. Pleasant, Patty (Randy) Owen of Saginaw, and Sandra (Mike) Hansen of Muskegon. Chris was preceded in death by his mother Betty Baumer Hogan and father-in-law harold Keehbauch.
