Mrs. Welles Dies At Age Of 89
---Mrs. Stella Welles, 89, formerly of 710 E. Mansion st., widow of W. B. Welles, died at Provincial House at 9:40 a.m. Thanksgiving Day, after an illness of several years.
---Born oct. 11, 1879 in Marshall, the daughter of Ezra Bryan and Alice L. (Godfrey) Murdock, she married William Be. Welles, June 20, 1903 in Marshall and he preceded her in death on Feb. 23, 1940. She had lived in Marshall all of her life and was a rural mail carrier for a number of years. She was a member of the Brooks Memorial United Methodist church and had written a book entitled "Marshall Methodisim from 1830 to 1942".

Word has been received here of the death of Roy L. Murdock, a former resident of Marshall, who died in Jackson last Thursday at the age of 87. He was the brother of Mrs. Stella Welles, 710 E. Mansion. Funeral services were held Saturday in a Jackson funeral home and burial followed in Oakridge cemetery, here.
