Steven L. Kimpel, 58, of Parkersburg, died at 12:05 p.m. Monday, May 2, 2005, at his residence.

Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m. Friday at Summers-Kistler Funeral Home in Olney. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at the funeral home with Gary Hall officiating.

Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery in Parkersburg.

Mr. Kimpel was born on May 31, 1946, in Scottsburg, Ind., the son of Charles Alvin and Magie Evelyn (Harbin) Kimpel. He married Kay Bare on December 2, 1972. She survives.

He was a derrick hand in the oil field industry.

Mr. Kimpel is survived by his wife, Kay Kimpel, of Parkersburg; a daughter, Stephanie Lynn Beasley and her husband, Douglas, of Parkersburg; a son, Seth Allen Kimpel and his wife, Andrea of Olney; five brothers, Frank Kimpel, of Hammond, La., Joe Kimpel, of Augusta, Ga., David Kimpel, of Mt. Vernon, Richard Kimpel, of Albion, and Malcom Kimpel, of Browns; five sisters, Pat Nash, of Longview, Texas, Margie Strickland, Oliver Springs, Tenn., Mary Jane Kimpel, of St. Louis, Mo., Kathey Berry, of Mt. Pleasant, Mich., and Sharon Butterick, of Albion; and six grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and five brothers, Tom, Jimmy, Gordon, Larry and Roger.

Steven married Janice BARE on 2 Dec 1972. Janice (daughter of Lewis Kenneth BARE and Betty PADDICK) was born on 7 Nov 1955 in Edwards County, Illinois; died on 22 Feb 2014 in Parkersburg, Richland Co., Illinois; was buried in Oak Hill Cemetery, Parkersburg, Richland Co., Illinois.
