Name:
Capt. John Deming and his wife were admitted to the church in Wethersfield in 1780, but soon afterwards he moved to Hartford. He was captain of a sailing vessel, and spent much of his life upon the sea. He finally removed to Savoy, Mass., where he lived to the ripe old age of ninety years. According to his grandson, he was a Revolutionary pensioner, but among the records of the several men of his name accredited with service in the American forces, as shown by the rolls, it is impossible to identify this particular John Deming.
