Name |
Elisha DEMING [1, 2] |
- Elisha Deming seems to have spent his life in Wethersfield, and his name appears frequently upon the land records of that town as a property owner. He inherited land from his uncle, Elisha Steele, which he afterwards willed to his children and grandchildren. His will of 5 Sep 1781 names his sons, Ephraim and Josiah, and his daughter Prudence, and the children (named Catling) of his daughter Anna. His son Josiah was a soldier of the Revolution who went in the sloop Ann from Wethersfield to join the forces at New York in 1776. Josiah's will in 1786 leaves his property to his sister, Prudence Buck, and the children of his brother Ephraim, and his sister Anna Catling, both deceased. [1]
