    • Thomas Kidder was a farmer, carpenter, and millwright. In the Spring of 1815 he moved from Vermont (probably Stratton, where his parents lived) to Hanover Township, Chautauqua Co., New York, where he erected a sawmill, and gristmill. In 1832 he and his family moved on to Elk Creek, Erie Co., Pa., where he and his wife died. [1]
