Dies in Kansas City
Council Grove - Harold Grubaugh, a former resident of Council Grove, was found shot to death early Sunday at a rooming house where he lived in Kansas City. Police say that he had killed himself with a shotgun.
The time and place of the funeral service will be announced by the Kendall Funeral Home.
Harold Grubaugh was born in Sep 1929, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Jonathan Grubaugh who live 10 miles east of Council Grove. He graduated from Council Grove High School in 1948. Survivors include his parents, two brothers, Charles, Wilsey and Leroy, Wyandotte County; and two sisters, Miss Flora Grubaugh and Mrs. Donald Barber, Council Grove.
The following note refers to Harold's emotional status at the time of his death:
Harold was found dead at a men's rooming house in Kansas City early on a Saturday. Officers said he had placed a shotgun in his mouth and fired it. Friends gave information that he had recenty undergone and emotional disturbance and had been despondent
