E-Mail from Marcia Harbijanae - From New Jersey Herald Dec 30, 1979 Raymond P. Van Orden, 81, of S. Green St., Franklin, died Saturday at the Riverside Hospital in Boonton. Born in Sussex, he lived most of his life in Hamburg before moving to Franklin 18 years ago. He retired in 1962 as a wire inspector at the Plastold Corp., in Hamburg. Mr. Van Orden was a member of the Hamburg Fire Department where he was once the chief; he was a life Member of the Sussex County Peace Officer's Association; the Samaritan Lodge No. 98 F & AM of Hardyston; and the Wallkill Valley Senior Citizens. he is survived by his wife, Meryl; a son, Charles of Wantage, two daughters, Grace Wolfenbarger of Mabelton, Ga., and Avis Van Orden of Stone Mountain, GA; a brother, Lester of Clifton; five grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. Services will be held at 11 a.m. at the F. John Ramsey Funeral Home, Franklin with the Rev. Peter Kinyon of the Hamburg Baptist Church officiating. Internment will follow in the North Hardyston Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home today from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. The Hamburg Fire Department will hold services at the funeral home today at 7:30 pm.
