- Samuel Sprague was chosen constable of Duxbury, March 6, 1700, and town clerk, March 16, 1709, which latter post he held but one year. he was probably a carpenter by occupation, as the Town records for 1708 show his receipt for the sum of one hundred and eighty pounds in full for erecting the meeting house in Duxbury. He moved to Rochester, Mass., about 1710; and d. there July 25, 1740, in the 71st year of his age. The widow Ruth Sprague and Noah Sprague were appointed administrators of his estate. [1]
